and new shoes!So I eventually decided if I am running trails all the time I should get some more appropriate shoes. I have had a range of shoes over the last years mostly Saucony Grids and Brooks Adrenalines. My latest pair of brooks and now starting to fade so maybe father Christmas should get me a present.<br />I have friends with Innovat-8 shoes and i was really looking for these but it is difficult to find a Brighton supplier. i wanted to try the shoes on obviously rather than just trust to luck from the Internet.<br />I decided to go to my usual shop RUN but they were shut. I eventually rocked up to the Jog Shop and was presented with the usually array. After several runs down the street I picked the pair which not only seemed best compromise in cushion and grip but also had a load of other features.<br /><br /><a href="http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/daithomasbrighton/WelshmanByTheSea/photo?authkey=A-ZM6sqWzn0#5151308690923964178"><img src="http://lh3.google.co.uk/daithomasbrighton/R30f9irnxxI/AAAAAAAAAR8/_oVvXG-51nM/s288/DSC00094.JPG" /></a><br /><br />So the New Balance Rx 1441 has an aggressive cleat and a host of features including a zipp in-able gaiter.<br />I thought I would test them today but was not quite expecting the snow!<br /><br /><a href="http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/daithomasbrighton/WelshmanByTheSea/photo?authkey=A-ZM6sqWzn0#5151308553485010690"><img src="http://lh3.google.co.uk/daithomasbrighton/R30f1irnxwI/AAAAAAAAAR0/SkQk8CIB9qM/s400/DSC00093.JPG" /></a><br /><br />I must say I felt like I had four wheel drive on, the grip was great with the shoes very comfortable. A good 5 miles and a bit. Nice afternoon but colder out of the sun as i ran in the shadow of the Beacon towards Ditchling. Just a small one we all agreed, we were all suffering various stages of post injury syndrome. Rich nearly even called off because of feeling fluee!<br />We eventually set off about 5.30 ish head torches at the ready just in case it was a longer 'short one' than we had expected.<br />Dr G seemed to run out of steam up the hill towards the beacon and it was a glorious evening with a great quality of light.<br />We headed off back down the hill but as we got towards the home straight Dr G found his form and decided to make a race of it back to my back gate. It was a dull and <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">dismal</span> day with a fine sea mist down around the coast. I felt like a long run so I decided to go for a route I had not done for some time. The picture was taken from my phone and <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">mo blogged</span> to this site at that time but strangely as David has pointed out it seems to have 3.29am as the post time not Sunday afternoon?</div><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I will add a map of the rout and add a marker where the picture was taken.</div><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">It ended up 9.72 miles which I was fairly chuffed with nut my calves were not.
